WIPocalypse Recap and a finish

I cleared out my January through November WIPocalypse tabs as it was getting a bit cluttered up top there, but you can see my December report and my 2012 recap in the tabs above or you can click on the December or 2012 and it should take you straight there.

One more finish for this year:

The pattern is from Cross Stitch World's blog.  There are a lot of biscornu patterns in May 2012 posts.  It's stitched on Silkweaver's 28-count opalescent Desert Sky with DMC. 

I am not sure what will be going on the frame now.  I should stay with the rotation but it was nice to start and finish something in just a few days, so I may pull some smalls out of the stash and work on them.

Uggghhhh, what a week!!

As if going back to work after two weeks off, the last 48 hours have been some of the worst I have had in years.  I won't go into details but I have become intimately familiar with the porcelain fixture in the bathroom.  Top that off with a 102 fever and I have been one unhappy camper.  I crawled out of bed this afternoon, showered and feel almost human, so hopefully I'm over it.

On top of wanting to curl up and die not feeling well I have been trying to clean up my Kindle's library one of the things I didn't get to while on vacation and it is possibly the most frustrating thing ever.  I am not removing from the Kindle itself, but permanently deleting from my library, you have to go to your library in Amazon, which isn't the real issue except that it takes forever to load the entire library and then you can only delete one item at a time! If you know how to do more than one at a time, please don't tell me right now, just wait a little bit and let me know. Wait for library to load, find book, delete and repeat and repeat and repeat!  I had 100+ so even with my wonderfully fast new internet connection, it has taken me most of the week.  At this point I think I'm done but it was a good lesson, if I know I will never read a book again, delete it right away.

I did get some stitching in before the crud attacked.  This is Marsh Marigolds on Logan's Creek by Brigitte Kozma.  It came from a 1989 issue of Cross Stitch and Country Crafts and is done on a light green not blue 14-count Aida with DMC. The three little stitches you see at the bottom is the bottom of the design so I am hoping that with another rotation I will have a finish.  I am not thrilled with the thread coverage 3 strands over 1 is really heavy but it's how it was started.  I do have a companion piece that will probably go into the rotation once this is finished.  As much as I don't like the thread usage and fabric, to make them truly a pair, I will have to continue with them.

Tomorrow is a rotation change day so Debbie Mumm's Summerhill House will see the light of day after a bit more than a year.  

Just Yakkity Yakking...

No pictures this post, just yakking. Suppose I should start with a recap of my August stitching. I know I cut way back on my goals from July, but I still didn't do too well.

My goals for August were:

• Finish part one of BoaF Almost
• Stitch on Chatelaine's Hawaiian Garden 5 nights Sort of

Not very good at all. I have a few leaves, some berries, the red flower and the center in the flower left to finish part 1 and I really should be able to get that done this weekend. I didn't stitch five separate nights on Hawaiian BUT I did spend more time on it than I would have if I'd worked on it five separate nights. Actually I think I'm going to give myself a "yes" on that one.

In addition to the posted goals I started and finished part one of iStitch's mystery SAL.

For September:

• Keep up to date with iStitch's mystery SAL
• Finish part 1 and start part 2 of Birds of a Feather mystery sampler
• Five hours on Hawaiian Garden

I may be able to get a lot of these done this weekend. It's Labor Day weekend and I normally have a long 3-day weekend, but after all the travel and craziness at work the last couple of months, I took today off also. I do have a few chores to do, trimming the grass around the house is at the top of the list, but none of them will take a huge amount of time, so plenty of time for stitching. And the other great thing is college football season starts this weekend, so lots of good stuff on the television the next few days.

I've started making plans for next year's stitching, oh I'm a great planner, just not so great on the execution sometimes. Anyway, Measi  over at Measi's Musings is hosting WIPocalypse 2012. It's a great SAL with very flexible rules. I was planning to work on WIPs next year, but it's a lot more fun with others. Only thing that I really have to remember to do it post my WIP progress on the new moon. As I'm doing that with the TUSAL, I think I can remember for the new one.

Hopefully I'll have a plethora (love that word but don't get a chance to use it much, sort of like aardvark - my favorite word but it doesn't come up in everyday conversation too often) of progress pics in my next post.
